Thank you for Attending!

Thank you all for attending the ACCED-I Annual Conference in Las Vegas. We hope you all had a great time, while taking away some great ideas from the educational sessions. We had a record attendance of 612 people!

Handouts from breakout sessions are available on the ACCED-I website. Also, take the time to again look over our wonderful sponsors and keep them in mind when it comes time to order again.

We enjoyed seeing all of you, and are already looking forward to next year, March 21-25, 2009 at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel & Towers in Boston, MA. Region 12 will be working hard to put together a wonderful program.

Attention Canadians

Canadian Eh!

Glad to see we've got a good crop of Canadians heading to Las Vegas for the ACCED-I annual conference. My name is Catherine and I work at the University of Regina. This is my fourth ACCED-I conference and if you're new to the conference, which I believe most of you are, we try and gather the Canadians together early at the conference. It's always great to meet people from all over but we've found in the past that the Canadians face a few different issues from our American counterparts so it's great to make the connection early on.

I'm hoping that you will be able to meet your Canadian colleagues for supper on Saturday night, March 8. Plans have been made to go to Taqueria Canonita at the Venetian. If we could meet just in front of the WEST DESK in the lobby (I'm told this is where we will check in and right by where we register for the conference) at 7:30 p.m., we could go over as a group. I'll be the person holding the Canadian Flag.

Daylight Savings Time

Daylight Savings Time will go into effect on Sunday, March 9th during the Annual Conference. Don't forget to spring forward before bed on Saturday, March 8th so you don't miss any Annual Conference time!

Special Interest Groups

This year, time has been set aside in the program for committees, project teams, and any other special interest group to meet. Would you like more time to talk with your fellow community colleges, christian institutions, those interested in sustainability, etc? Monday, March 10 from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM is your opportunity to get together with like-minded colleagues. Transportation from McCarren Airport

This year, ACCED-I did not arrange for a preferred shuttle company. However, there are several shuttle options available from McCarren Airport. The prices range around $5-$7 one-way. All shuttles are located outside of baggage claim. A few options are:

Each shuttle company makes stops at all strip hotels, and it can be a timely process. Taxis would be much quicker and will be approximately $12-15 one-way.
